TOPIC: CALIFORNIA HIGH SPEED RAIL PROJECT
SPEAKER: DAVE THOMSON, DIRECTOR OF INFRUSTRUCTURE FOR THE WESTERN REGION OF STV
Mr. Thomson is a project executive and manager with more than 25 years of experience. He has provided project management, operational modeling and strategic planning services for transportation initiatives, including the design and construction of rail transload and intermodal facilities, the renovation and relocation of railroad infrastructure, and multiyear capacity expansion plans.
He served 20 years with the Burlington Northern. Starting as a track laborer, he moved into various roles in operations, engineering, marketing, equipment and strategic planning. He held elected offices, first as a City Councilman and then Mayor. Prior to joining STV, he was President of Heil Construction, a regional general contractor. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering, a MBA, and his professional engineering license.
As STV’s Director of Infrastructure for the Western Region, he is responsible for providing direction for Rail, Civil and Bridge disciplines on the West Coast. He has the privilege of being the Project Manager in STV's involvement with the California High-Speed Rail project.
